I first fell in love with coffee during a trip to France when I was 12. I’d had coffee before, but nothing that tasted so delicious without a drop of milk or sugar – I was totally hooked. To this day when I think of great coffee, I think of that cup.
A decade and a half later, I purchased my first home espresso setup, the result being subpar coffee and Breville branded landfill fodder. I decided to invest in a “buy for life” setup, delving into the world of prosumer machines for the first time.
I soon learned that the US market for Italian espresso equipment is dominated by a small number of retailers who charge a premium without much added value. I’d done extensive work in Italy, so decided to find my own path to the manufacturers so that I could buy what I really wanted at a fair price. That path got me to a Rocket Mozzafiato (since
upgraded to a Giotto R!) and a Eureka Mignon Specialita. The enjoyment I get from these products, along with the great experiences and relationships developed along the way, are why this site exists.
My mission is to make buy-it-for-life grade equipment a little more accessible, providing great service along the way, to a community of fellow coffee enthusiasts. If you have any questions or product suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
